Brides of Sundari - Wedding Saree Ideas

Indian wedding rituals date back at least five thousand years, according to Vedic traditions. The cultural value and auspiciousness of a wedding are intrinsically related to the “Muhurta Pattu” which the families of the to-be brides and grooms, collectively shop on an auspicious day and time. Each outfit in the Wedding Trousseau is handpicked to render meaning to various ceremonies like nichyadartham, malai matral, panigraham and a lot more. In this week’s blog, we present to you “The Brides of Sundari”. You can take inspiration from their outfits and styling.

Sahana and Bharath

Sahana had always envisioned wearing a unique saree on her wedding day. After an extensive search, it was love at first sight when she laid her hands on this beautiful pink Kanjivaram Silk Saree at Sundari Silks. She paired the saree with a Richly Embroidered Blouse and temple jewellery. The kemp stones on the jewellery complemented the colour of her saree. Draped in the saree of her dreams, she tied the knot with Bharath surrounded by her near and dear ones.

Anu and Abhinav

North met South in a soulful celebration of the love story of Anu and Abhinav. A perfect mix of Punjabi Dhol and Tamil Thavil, the wedding embraced the customs of both their cultures. Anu looked absolutely stunning as she exchanged vows with Abhinav wearing a Traditional Orange Kanjivaram Silk Saree. She completed the look with jasmine flowers, simple makeup and a beautiful smile.

Monisha and Shivakumar

Marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, Monisha and Shivakumar's wedding was magical in every way. The floral-themed mandap decoration had a commanding visual presence. Monisha wore a traditional Kanjivaram silk saree with an Aari Embroidered blouse which elevated the entire look.

Elaborate, intricate and beautiful, an Indian wedding is a celebration of all the wonderful things in life – family, friends, food, culture and customs. The wedding is not complete without the perfect bridal saree, which holds a lot of emotions for the bride and is treasured by her for a lifetime. Our heartfelt gratitude to all the brides for making Sundari Silks a part of their special day and sharing their beautiful stories with us. We wish them all an abundance of love, laughter and happily ever after!  At Sundari, our Wedding Collective combines ethnic roots with a strong sense of aesthetic innovation. Each cherished trousseau piece tells a narrative steeped in history, culture, and legacy, hand-picked to provide meaning to various ceremonies and showcase the newlywed's grace and elegance.
